Human adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cell interaction with cancer cells

Stimulation of human tumor cell proliferation was observed within the project of human mesenchymal stromal cells-derived from adipose tissue interaction with the human tumor cells HT-29, HCT-116, MDA-MB-231, MDA-MB-361 a MG-BA-42 in experiments in vitro.Tumor cell proliferation support can be observed both in the direct co-culture experiments and culture in tumor cell-conditioned medium. The ability of huMSC to migrate actively towards tumor cells or tumor cell-conditioned medium was confirmed in extracellular matrix migration assay in modified Boyden chambers. Experiments on nude mouse model and data acquisition has started within the first year of the project to evaluate the ability of huMSC to support tumor growth in vivo.
