Human adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cell interaction with cancer cells

Project leader: Lucia Kučerová
Project duration: 2007 - 2009

Therapeutic application of human Adipose-tissue Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (ADMSC) remains limited unless the effects of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) on tumor growth in vivo are better understood. The aim of the project is to characterize the site-specific and systemic effect of administered ADMSC on tumor growth using human tumor xenograft model. The study of the human ADMSC and cancer cells interaction in vitro should lead to revealing the possible molecular mechanism by identifying the soluble factor and receptor cross-talk involved.
