Validation of sensitive assays for prediction of radiosensitivity in breast cancer therapy

Project leader: Eva Marková
Project duration: 2005 - 2007

This project will compare the results obtained in vitro and in vivo and will validate a possibility to use sensitive biochemical assay for estimation of radiosensitivity of breast cancer patients. The investigation may result in potential application of suggested assay for prediction of individual radiosensitivity. The project will provide a mechanistic platform for analysis of DSB-co-localizing residual foci in respect to breast cancer. Beside of mechanistic importance, this project may also result in development of novel sensitive technique for estimation of sensitivity of cancer patients and optimization of cancer therapy. This technique would have definite advantages such as small amount of cells needed for analysis, short time for analysis, software-based quantification of sensitivity to radiation.
